Hello, you are SO welcome!
We've been on an incredible journey at St. Michael’s over the last couple of years. In the Bible, it says that God can do immeasurably more than we can ever imagine - and that’s certainly been our experience!
We are a community that puts Jesus at the heart of all we do. We want to partner with Him to share His good news in Eastbourne, and to see our community transformed by encountering Him. We’d love you to join us on the journey!
A small part of our journey…
Life at St Michael’s
-
Jesus placed himself at the heart of His community. He shared in the joys, the sorrows and the hardship of people making their way through life, and He demonstrated that the key to finding peace in a lost world was by doing life with Him.
At St. Michael’s, we long to do the same - to share life’s journey with our community and our town. We want to demonstrate the love and unusual kindness of Jesus to all who we meet, so that they may discover the extraordinary life that Jesus offers for themselves: life in all its fullness.
-
The children and young people of today are the church leaders of tomorrow. At St. Michael’s they’re at the heart of all we do. We firmly believe that the church is a place for them to find friendships, community and most importantly, to encounter the incredible love that Jesus has to offer them. St Michael’s is quite often a messy and loud place - and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
-
We meet in many different ways throughout the week, but our main gathering is on Sunday at 10am. Our service is one of worship, word, Spirit and prayer. We have children’s groups and youth work led by a passionate team, and we also quite often have 7 foot Pandas leading our worship (really.)
Alongside Sunday mornings, we run Messy Church once a month on a Saturday afternoon, a traditional BCP service on a Thursday morning, and from Nov 10th 2024, we’ll be meeting every other Sunday in the evening at 7pm for an extended time of worship together.
Our kids work groups include crèche (0-2) Seekers (3-6) Voyagers (7-9) and Odyssey (10+). Our Pursuit group (11+) meets every other Sunday at 6pm, before the evening service
-
Then you’re not alone! We have loads of people who’ve discovered our church without really knowing much about ‘church’. We want everyone to feel welcomed and comfortable when they step through the doors. The only real way to see what St Michael’s is like is to come along and try it for yourself - we’d love to see you!
